Jim Valley
AND THE RAINBOW PLANET

Picture of Jim.
Amongst Gig Harbor's many treasures is a gem of a guy named Jim Valley... songwriter, singer, entertainer, educator... and all around fun fellow.

If you were a rock and roll bopping teenager in the mid-60s you might remember Jim as lead guitar player for the pop group Paul Revere and the Raiders. These days Jim is America's musical ambassador to the children of the world, bringing music, movement and a message of friendship, creativity, self-esteem, culturality and ecology to kids from Washington to Katmandu.

Jim has released five CD/tapes on Rainbow Planet Records, a few of which every parent with pre or school-aged children should have in their collection. Not only do kids love Jim's tunes and themes, parents, too, find them enjoyable... a major bonus for folks who must endure their kids playing the same tape over and over again. Later this year (1999) Jim will be releasing his first adult-oriented album in a long while. This eagerly-anticipated CD will make an outstanding addition to Jim's already glowing catalog of music. Look for a clip here as soon as it is available.

Jim will be appearing at the 1999 Maritime Gig Festival in Gig Harbor this June. Make sure your kids get a chance to catch this rare local public appearance by Jim.
