"African Dancers"

When viewing Laura Bethke's work for the first time, you often hear the comment "How Does She Do That?" Laura uses a very tedious process that combines colorful acrylic paints, 3-D glue and press-on copper foil to a piece of matting board which has been cut out with an exacto knife. These techniques blended together create her own unique interpretation of a primitive art form. Laura was born in Bremerton, Wa. and currently resides in Olalla, WA. with her husband, Gary. Trips to New Mexico and Australia a few years ago and the anticipation of being an empty nester, inspired her to try something completely new in her life. The results bring the colorful and respective "Faces of the Past".
